Verratti: The national team is everything to me, I hope Italy can qualify for the World Cup
6686 Sports November 13th Recently, former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Verratti, who currently plays for Qatar's Duhail Club, accepted an interview with Sky Sports Italy.
Marco, this is your third season in Qatar, how do you feel and why have you stayed here for so long?
"When I live well in a place, I like to stay. I stayed in Paris for 11 years because I lived well and I found everything I needed here. I love life outside football very much and playing with my team makes me happy. I am happy here."
You are still young. Have you ever considered the possibility of playing in Serie A for the first time?
"Everything is possible in football, let's see! I'm here now, finish the year first and then see. I don't close the door to anything, but I like to live in the present and not think too much about the future. We will see at the end of the year what I want to do and what my family wants to do."
However, can we say that your dream is to play in Serie A with Pescara?
"Pescara is my team, and it is everything to me. At the same time, I also hope that Pescara can return to Serie A one day, and then we will see. There is no doubt that playing in the top league in the team you develop is the dream of every child."
What do you think of the situation of the national team entering the World Cup?
"The play-offs seem inevitable now, but I still expect Norway to make mistakes, and it will be tough. Italy has a great coach who instills huge hope in the players, and I expect that by March everyone will be ready to fight for the damn World Cup."
Is it possible for you yourself to be involved in the play-offs and possibly the World Cup afterwards?
"I don't know, let's see. If necessary, I will talk directly to the coach. We will see, the national team is everything to me, and I don't think individual players are important. The national team belongs to everyone, I just hope to see it in the World Cup for my children, and for all the younger generations who have never seen Italy in the World Cup. If I can qualify, I will be very happy."
Are you following Serie A in Qatar? Who do you think will win?
"Yes, I have been paying attention. As far as the lineup is concerned, I think Inter Milan is the most comprehensive team. But this year there is AC Milan, they have no cup tasks and can perform well. Don't know why, but I support AC Milan this year, I know my friend Zlatan Ibrahimovic cares about it, and AC Milan is a team that I have always loved."
