Blogger: The K-League competition will cancel the restriction on starting U22 players next season, and only two players will be allowed on the roster.
6686 Sports News on November 6 According to Korean football blogger Korea Football News, starting from next season, South Korea's K1 League will abolish the requirement that the team's starting lineup must contain at least one player under the age of 22. Instead, each team must include at least two U-22 players in their 20-man matchday squad.
Last month the Korean Professional Football League held a council meeting and passed a series of new resolutions. This includes relaxing the registration limit for foreign players and modifying the mandatory participation policy for U22 players.
The previous relevant resolution and reform direction was that in K1 League matches, each team can make up to five substitutions regardless of whether there are U22 players on the field. However, the requirement that at least 2 U22 players be included in the competition roster (20-man roster) is still in effect. That is to say, in a single game, if there is only one U22 player on the roster, the number of players on the roster will be reduced to 19; if there are no U22 players, only 18 people can be registered on the roster for a single game.
Previous council resolutions only mentioned specific registration issues, etc. The latest reports say that K-League competitions will also take advantage of the situation to cancel the requirement that each team must have one U22 player in the starting lineup.
