It is reported that the 44-year-old Diouf was absent from the court hearing scheduled to be held in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, on Tuesday local time. After Diouf divorced his ex-wife in 2023, the court ordered him to pay her £670 a month in child support for their 17-year-old daughter Keira, in addition to paying for school fees and medical expenses.
However, his ex-wife said that Diouf has not paid since March last year and currently owes about 14,000 pounds in alimony. Under Senegal's strict laws, refusal to pay child support can result in a prison sentence.
According to the "Sun" report, Diouf will return to Dakar to appear in court on December 5. The lawyer for Diouf's ex-wife said: "He is fully capable of paying, and he has the ability to pay, but he refuses. He lives a comfortable life, mainly traveling between Dakar and Sali Portudar."
