The 45-year-old Shao Jiayi once served as the coach of the U19 and U20 echelons of the National Football Team. He served as the assistant coach of the Chinese Men’s Football Team twice from 2022 to 2024. In July last year, he officially served as the coach of Qingdao West Coast of the Chinese Super League. He coached 41 games and achieved 15 wins, 13 draws and 13 losses, with a winning rate of 36.59%. This season, he led the team to temporarily rank ninth in the Chinese Super League.
