Clippers official: Leonard will miss the game against the Celtics due to ankle sprain
6686 Sports News on November 16th Earlier, the Clippers announced that their star Kawhi Leonard will miss the Clippers' game against the Celtics tomorrow due to an ankle sprain.
On November 4, during a game against the Heat, Leonard sprained his ankle while landing and has been sidelined since then.
Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank provided another worrying injury update to ESPN. He said: "It's not just an ankle sprain, Kawhi's foot also has an obvious sprain. When he sprained his ankle, it triggered some mechanical reactions in the foot."
The good news is that Leonard will be with the team for this week's upcoming Eastern Conference road trip. Frank expects Leonard to get more positive feedback on his injury when he rechecks next week.
The Clippers desperately need their superstar back on the court. Although the media once again touted the Clippers as championship favorites in the offseason without any evidence, the team has had an extremely poor start to the season, recording only 3 wins and 8 losses.
What is even worse is that a group of "veteran players" signed by the Clippers during the offseason have completely failed. Although Chris Paul still performed well with the Spurs last season, the 40-year-old has failed to play (DNP) in three consecutive games due to coaching decisions after returning to the Clippers. In addition, Bradley Beal, acquired by the Clippers in a trade, will be out for the season due to a hip fracture.
