Mike Brown: Anunoby is an All-Star and has a chance to compete for Best Defensive Player of the Year
6686 Sports November 12th The NBA regular season continues. The Knicks defeated the Grizzlies 133-120 at home today.
In this game, Anunoby played 36 minutes, shooting 7 of 17, scoring 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 interceptions.
After the game, coach Mike Brown talked about Anunoby after the game. He believed Anunoby had a chance to compete for the best defensive player.
"In my opinion, OG is an All-Star. Not only is he an All-Star, he is also a top defensive player. I think he deserves the same opportunity as the other outstanding players on the team to compete for the league's Defensive Player of the Year award."
"First of all, he has put in a lot of hard work all summer; secondly, I think he is now more and more comfortable with what we are trying to do. He clearly knows where his teammates are on the court when he drives the ball through. "He's making quick decisions with the ball, and when he draws the second guard -- again based on our offensive system -- he knows what positions should be filled. So, he's just accepting and integrating into everything our offense is trying to do. With his talent, size, athleticism and basketball IQ, it's showing that he can still step up to another level as a playmaker."
