Chasing the dream: Without Curry, no one would wear Under Armor. He might be more successful than Jordan if he stays with Nike.
6686 Sports November 15th Warriors star Dream Green updated his podcast today and talked about Curry’s termination of contract with Under Armor.
Chai Meng said: "The contract between Curry and Under Armor has been a great cooperation for both parties in the past 13 years. But I also know that he has experienced some challenges over the years - for example, Under Armor is not a fully mature and smoothly operating business opportunity like Nike or Adidas. He has indeed experienced many difficulties over the years, but because of his loyalty, persistence and belief in his commitment, he has survived. In fact, with his status, he could have chosen to leave many years ago, but he made a commitment 13 years ago. Commitment to follow through. I admire that."
"Curry has built a great brand, a great collection of basketball shoes. He makes people wear Under Armor shoes that no one would wear in the past. After Curry came, their basketball shoes suddenly became cool because they had Curry's logo on them."
Dream Chasing then said: "If Curry had not left Nike, he would have become what we see now, and then it would be built in the Nike system. Curry Brand, just like people like Jordan, James, and Durant, what would be the situation today? I am even willing to boldly say-if Curry? Brand was built in Nike's system. It may now be the largest brand under Nike, even more successful than Jordan. This sounds bold, but I do not mean to disrespect Jordan. No one can surpass GOAT's achievements in the basketball shoe business, and no one may ever surpass it."
"But I would really think about it: if Curry stayed at Nike. , How far will he take this brand? Because he has become the Curry he is today, and Nike knows how to deal with this level of superstars. They don't start from scratch like Under Armor. It's even a bit like plug and play, and Curry himself is very smart. He has his own ideas, his own style, and his own vision."
