US reporter: Hornets team doctor says Rozier was really injured in controversial game, with MRI as evidence
6686 Sports, October 26 According to previous reports, Heat player Rozier, Trail Blazers coach Billups and former NBA player Damon Jones were arrested for illegal investment competitions.
American Today reporter Chris Haynes reported on the show a statement from a league spokesperson regarding Rozier’s arrest:
Sources told me that the NBA did confiscate Rozier’s cell phone, but they did not find any wrongdoing. So I contacted the league, and NBA spokesman Mike Bass provided me with a statement, which read: "The NBA does not have the same powers or investigative resources as the federal government. We do not have subpoena power, cannot compel anyone to provide information, and do not have law enforcement surveillance, wiretapping or search warrant capabilities."
As for the controversial game - Rozier left the game early due to a foot injury and did not play again in the remaining games in 2023, which led some to speculate that the NBA Suspended him pending investigation. In this regard, Bass continued to say:
"Any claim that the NBA made Rozier intentionally miss the game after the game on March 23, 2023 is completely false. According to the diagnosis of the team doctor, Rozier did have a foot injury, which was confirmed through MRI imaging."
